It's informative to note that the expected life of one of these generators is 30 years and the break-even point for the paying back the cost is 15 years.
I don't know what the break even point is for the carbon release from construction. I note that the blades that catch the wind are made in China using coal-fired power.

It's hard to appreciate how big these wind generators really are—even when you're standing close to one. The base of the tower is big enough to park a mid-size car inside. The tip of a blade pointing straight up is more than 65 m above the ground.
The OVER SIZE LOAD sign on the truck below is no joke. At more than 20 m long, the single blade being transported is nearly twice as long as a 'standard' trailer.
